It's so damn easy for us Americans to forget about how our politics effect the world.

I'm being positive - I'm sure we're in for a change. I think we'll have a new America eight years from now, the polar opposite of the ruin Bush is leaving us with.

But I think sometimes Americans can be at our best when things are at their worst. Maybe that's just my love of country talking, call me a patriot and hang me I guess. I do think it's true. I do think we can change this thing around.

I'm looking forward to see what the rest of the world thinks of us again in a few years.

Take care and have a good night!gomonkeygohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03388208407977661175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6501177713131751048.post-88583038811235097462008-11-04T14:52:00.000-08:002008-11-04T14:52:00.000-08:00Hi man, my girlfriend and I, though we're italians...Hi man, my girlfriend and I, though we're italians and do live in italy, we'll be staying up all night watching tv marathons covering the US elections and we SO hope it's going to be Obama.
Also because this US election is very import to the whole world, but I'm talking as a UE citizen here: we can't stand 4 more years of a republican "junta", no more.
We saw Iraq, Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, the patrioct act, all the interests of Bush's family and friends (Halliburton...),and we just can't understand how this man got to be re-elected too..
From this part of the ocean American politcs kind of looks bizarre oftentimes (to many europeans), and our political systems are very, very different, but they've never been so different as in these 8 years.
8 years...it does seem a lifetime. Today my mind is going back to the wee hours wasted while watching the results of the 2001 elections...People can surely say that dems or republicans are hardly two different parties, or that a man can't really change the way things are, but I'm strongly conviced that no man could stand up and say that with Al Gore at the White House there'd have been no difference (in thes long eight years)
So, all I'm saying is: you can change (yes, you can..), will you?
I'm waiting for a strong answer.mishahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10903227137302422939noreply@blogger.com
