Opal - Live at the I-Beam, San Francisco, CA (12/14/87) Part 1
Opal - Live at the I-Beam, San Francisco, CA (12/14/87) Part 2
One of my first posts was a Clay Allison show, supposedly their first. I promised then a live Opal show. I keep my promises, folks!
Fantasy: I'm walking down the street and I bump into someone by accident. Apologizing, I do a double-take - it's Kendra Smith! What's she doing here in _____!? "Why," says she, "I'm about to play an un-announced concert of all new songs. And though we've never met and I don't even know if you have any musical ability at all, would you like to sit in because my (guitar/bass/sitar/trumpet/any damned instrument at all) player couldn't make it?" Duh. Sure.
Repeat fantasy. Forever.

wow many thanks for posting this opal they sound pretty fantastic (imho)
You're welcome. It's a decent recording, great performance. I've got too more Opal, but one is after Kendra left so, really, that ain't Opal. They just hadn't changed the name to Mazzy Star yet. I'll get the others up at some point too.
Thanks alot for this RARE Opal recording - I just love Kendra Smith's vocals - she's truly a gifted singer and songwriter!
buzby
Very welcome, buzby, very welcome. This was one of the first boots I got, about 9 or so years ago. It's still a favorite.
Thanks a lot.
What an uload.
I was not lucky, shaw them once, without Kendra.
Costas from Greece
Cool, Costas! Even without Kendra at least you got to hear that ROBACK! guitar thing.
Man, Opal, the soundtrack to the part of my life the most full of hot monkey love. Had the very same fantasy regarding Kendra and even had a girlfriend at the time who wanted her too. That's oneupsmanship, I think. Anyway, thanks.
I'm dying to know what is the last track-I think its a cover? Anyone know?
I sure don't know, but am with you if anyone can identify it. BTW, new music next week...stay tuned.
I need this. Help.
Please re-up these files. Too good to miss!
It looks like it's been years but can you re-post these? I'd really like to hear them. Thank you.
