Worship Him, Children, Worship Him

Julian Cope - Live in Toronto, Canada (1995) 1

Once upon a time, there was a little boy who wanted to be a poet. What better way to live life than putting random words down in an only privately sensible but outwardly incoherent fashion, for few if any people to read.

That little boy now blogs. Same diff.

But one of the most creative days of his life as a poet happened under the influence of Julian Cope. The suggestive power of music alone transported him into a zone of intensive creative energy and words came with such precision and power and force that the little boy could only surrender himself to it.

Hours later, long after the music was over, he had page after page of freshly typed words that he didn't remember typing. And two or three of them were good words. Very good words.

Enjoy. Shit.

PLEASE READ THE COMMENTS FOR THIS POST! A HYPER-GENEROUS INDIVIDUAL HAS GIVEN US UNWORTHY BEINGS MANY LINKS TO A TREASURE TROVE OF TELEVISION BOOTS FOR YOUR EAR CANAL LOVE FESTIVALS! THANK HIM PROFUSELY!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Dave Sez! This is awesome. I'll point viewers to the comments here so they can enjoy.

(Personally, I think I have all of these already on CD. I did a LOT of Television trading with some serious collectors a few years ago and I don't think I've listened to all if that stuff yet).

My pleasure, GoMonkeyGo, from one ageing libertarian Sci-Fi and Television fan to another, cheers Dave Sez.

Just about dead on with everything but the libertarian, Dave. Sorry. Whilst in my youth I was certainly influenced by Heinleinian ficto-libertarian philosophies and probably some of my wacked ideas here smack of such at times, I identify myself more as a progressive, socialist, anarchist (science fiction) punk. But that still leaves us an awful lot of common ground, eh?

My mistake, GoMonkeyGo, for forgetting that the word libertarian has a different tone in the US - over here in Europe, it is synonymous with anarchist ... which I am also happy to call myself, so we have that in common too! Cheers, Dave Sez (david.lombok@hotmail.com).

PS: for the Television - This Case Is Closed FLAC download above, if necessary, the password is http://dexondaz.blogspot.com/. Cheers, Dave Sez.

Sweet - thanks for broadening my vocabulary and my mind. Both always good.

You're welcome, TS!

This is great - thanks! I've always loved Television, and "Little Johnny Jewel" is still one of my favorite singles ever. Met my wife at a Richard Hell concert in 1978...

I don't know how to thank you,and the other individuals who posted all these Television goodies-I've only been into this blog thing for a short time and I've seen some amazing generosity, selflessness and plain hard work on behalf of music lovers like myself. For some reason I thought I'd be entering a kind of closed-shop,I-Have-it-you-don't-why-should-I-give-up-my-secrets-to-you kind of attitude but it's turned out to be the opposite.
There are a number of ways to obtain music on the web but this one is by far the most satisfying on a personal level, being able to "talk" to the people involved and hear their stories.
Thanks again to you all!!

Welcome and glad you are enjoying the music. There are lots of great music-sharing blogs out there though some do tread the legal line more than others. I wanted to share only legal tunes here and even the courts say that boots are legal if they are not sold or otherwise legitimately available. Why hoard, then? (Though I've met some of those hoarding folks during the days I was building my own collection - ones who'd hint at the real treasure they had but wouldn't share!)

Again - thanks for stopping by and have fun!

Yeah thanks a mill

Nice to see a new comment here, pinkpressthreat. Although you have seen these two posted at edo's blog before, GoMonkeyGo may not as I posted them after his last comment there, so here we go with two more Television boots:
