Am I stealing from The Simpsons or the title of this article? Who knows. In this crazy post-modern blog-o-matic world, it's hard to tell left from up and down from backwards anymore.
But I was heartened to realize that one thing remains the same - my great disgust and loathing for the vile Ronald Reagan. I thought for a while that I'd really have to hate Bush II even more than Bonzo, but now I know that I don't.
It's a good feeling, not having to give up such an old and powerful grudge. The old hates is the good hates, they say. Don't they?

Gil Scott Heron had this pegged in Winter in America -- I would not dream to attempt to summarize his words, but iirc Gil pointed out that the Reagun-zap election had the poorest turnout ever, thereby implying that the majority of Americans had voted for nobody, and nobody is what they got.
I always felt that Reagan's election was the biggest political con job ever pulled - until Bush II's first and second rigged elections.
But the way the people were push-me/pulled-me by the Reagan propagandists was horrifying. Almost as horrifying as how easily most people took it.
Reagan made me abandon all interest in politics for at least 15 years. I was so thoroughly disgusted by his Presidency that I couldn't look at anything political in this country without dread and cynicism.
Thanks for the comment, too - hope you're well and fine and survived the winter. I think it's finally summer.
Couldn't agree more !!! The "Holy Worriers" aka death squads he so loved, never uttering the word AIDS until a few months before leaving office, while millions died on his watch. Just two examples of person still decreed as some sort of american superman hero ! I have to spit the fowl taste from my mouth just at the thought of airports named after him and now some new statue somewhere, all to remember a man so full of shit and delusion... I have to stop. One thing he did do was make me into a very aware citizen because of his endless hypocritical polices. Thank You for the brilliant picture it's been awhile since I've seen it or created one myself for the various covers of albums I played on in the 80's =) He always made a good art subject...
As much as I hated Ronny, George the second was clearly the worst. Ronny could at least say he was sorry unlike the creeps from the last term. Of course he did run the country on a credit card.
I made that pic myself. Kind of a long-held dream. It's really Hitler's 'stache, too. Gotta love Photoshop!
Revo-Bum: Reagan was both awakening and deadening for me. Like I said, he destroyed my faith in America basically for many years. His was a tremendous freakin' con job and we're still paying for it.
I think one thing's for sure - punks STILL HATE REAGAN!
Sweet.
I don't know his (or her) name yet, but the next president, who will be elected in 2012, will make Reagan and W. seem like your best friends.
krid - you nailed my fears, definitely, because whomever the next Republican President may be (won't be until 2016 or more likely 2020, is my guess, so Palin better stock up on the Botox!), she/he will definitely be a freakin' monster. They'll run with the Reagan/Bush/Cheney planbook (written on the back of the discarded Constitution) all the way into the grave. And take the rest of us with them.
No. It'll be 2012.
For any uninitiated souls who might be lurking on this blog (I found it looking for music), the following brief glossary may be helpful:
1. "Reagan/Bush/Cheney planbook" = policies that promote opportunity for the less fortunate, and freedom and security for individual, hard-working, law-abiding citizens.
2. "Constitution" = whatever illegal powers leftist demagogues hope the federal government will usurp this week.
3. "grave" = grave
